Kung Ven graduated with Master and Bachelor of Science degrees from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering. Years later, Kung went on to achieve his MBA from Georgia State University. Kung is a licensed professional engineer in twelve states. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional, an active member of the USGBC, CMAA, and IEEE.

Kung’s experience stems from nearly two decades of building engineering and construction services. His expertise includes the design of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, instrumentation & controls, emergency and prime power generators, uninterruptible power supply, grounding, lighting, life safety and security systems, lightning protection, and telecommunications and technology systems.

In addition to design, Kung’s work also includes serving as program and project manager, owner’s rep, and working in the field performing commissioning and testing, construction administration, site inspections, energy audits, and property and facility condition assessments. He has worked in a variety of market sectors including mission-critical, federal, municipality, commercial/corporate, healthcare, higher education and K-12, transportation and aviation, hospitality, theme & entertainment, water/wastewater, institutional/justice, and industrial facilities.

Kung’s portfolio includes top clients such as FedEx, Microsoft, Piedmont Healthcare, DeKalb County Schools District, Emory University, City of Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, GDOT, MARTA, Georgia Building Authority, NAVFAC, USACE, NASA, USPS, FAA, and BlueCross BlueShield, to name a few. In addition to his experience in the industry, he continues to make time to travel and explore new places.

Kung has also successfully published two papers: “Technologies and Design Elements Associated with Microgrids” in April 2018, in addition to “Energy & Resiliency, Project Case Studies – Challenges, Solutions, Benefits, Lessons Learned” in February 2019.

As Director of Engineering for Conway & Owen, Kung will lead our multi-discipline engineering team in project execution and delivery, along with supporting the firm’s business development efforts.
