The project scope consists of a new five-story, 150,000 square foot dormitory for 300 students. The living units are comprised of a variety of one, two, and three-bedroom units. Kitchenettes and a living room are included in each living unit. Student common areas are distributed throughout the building with lounge and study spaces on each floor. A smaller, two-story “Commons” wing is located at the southeast wing. Adjoining the residence hall is the “Nest”, a two-story commons facility complete with game rooms, theatres, a computer lab, and multipurpose space for the residents. This area provides multipurpose functions including classroom, conference rooms, recreation rooms, Residence Life offices, and a student lounge. The building was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
