A new 62,500 square foot Academic Facility that includes classroom laboratories for General Chemistry and General Biology.  Classrooms have integral counter sinks with gas outlets for Bunsen burners.  Sink waste is piped with acid proof plumbing materials and plumbed to an outside acid dilution tank before connecting to sanitary drainage.  Instructor’s tables have shut off valve for all gas in classrooms.  Emergency EPO switch in each classroom shuts off gas via a solenoid valve and all electrical outlets. Science prep room between classrooms has a laboratory hood with individual exhaust.  Hood has water and gas connections.  Hood is plumbed to acid waste piping. Classrooms and prep room are ventilated per requirements of ASHRAE 62. This project is designed for Silver LEED Certification.
